Hello, February!

I thought I posted this last week, oops! February’s #sffreverb brings in both Hugo and Nebula award winners! I think I’m going to be reading either The Wanderer or The Moon is a Harsh Mistress! I hope you’ll join this month! Let me know what you’ll be reading, and let’s chat about it on social media. Follow #sffreverb over on Instagram and Twitter! I’ll be reposting and retweeting anything with the hashtag and other fun stuff! If you like Instagram templates, I have them posted on the Instagram, but you’ll soon see a page for them here.

More information about #sffreverb 2019 is linked above or here. Check back in a week or so for the round up post. Each book you read and its corresponding review/thoughts post gets you an entry into a giveaway for one book from Book Depository ($15 max), so it’s a great way to prepare yourself for those upcoming months’ reads!

I can’t wait to read along with you! TO THE STARS!

January 2019 #sffreverb check-in & giveaway!

Hello, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying your January #sffreverb pick! Tell me all about it! Are you enjoying it? Are you stuck? Did you DNF?

This is also the round-up post for the January giveaway! Since we’re such a small group right now, I don’t have a Google Form to enter.

The winner will receive a SFF book of their choice (up to $15USD) shipped to them from BookDepository.

Here are the qualifications for the giveaway:

  • Read and review one of the January 2019 #sffreverb books. This review/thought dump can be posted on your personal blog or Instagram!
  • One review per January book, so if you read two from the challenge and write a review/post for each one, you can enter twice, and so forth!
  • For a bonus entry: answer the following questions about the book in your review/thoughts: How did reading this book make you think about science fiction and the concepts the work presents? Does it shift your worldview about the subject? How is the thinking in the book dated and/or modern? It doesn’t have to be essay-length, but I do encourage you to think about how speculative fiction forces us to think beyond our current mindset and the “what-ifs”!
  • Comment here with your link!

Giveaway closes January 31, 2019, at 11:59pm EST. I’ll announce the winner shortly after here and on Instagram!

Hello, 2019! Hello, #sffreverb!

Now that it’s January, it’s time for all new things to begin!

January ties in with #VintageSciFiMonth in that myself and a few others are reading Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land! I’ve never read it before, so the #sffreverb challenge and this is a great way to knock off those reads off my TBR!
